Continuing Education Credits(CEC's)

To keep your IICRC certification current and maintain your professional knowledge, Continuing Education Credits (CECs) are an important part of the process.

What are CECs?If you hold an IICRC certification, there are two main things you need to do to keep it active:

1. Pay your annual renewal feeEach year, IICRC issues a renewal invoice through your online account. Paying this on time is important to ensure your certifications remain current.

2. Complete your Continuing Education CreditsWithin each four-year cycle, you are required to complete and submit 14 hours of CECs to IICRC. These credits demonstrate that you are continuing to develop your skills and stay up to date with changes in standards, technology, and best practice across the restoration and cleaning industries.

The good news is that you do not need to sit your original IICRC exam again to gain CECs. If you attend an IICRC course that you are already certified in, it can still count towards your CEC requirement. Credits can also be gained through approved one-day industry training events and seminars.

Courses delivered by The Restoration Group Limited qualify for 14 CEC hours, with the exception of the Odour Control Technician (OCT) course, which qualifies for 7 CEC hours.

Why are CECs important?Continuing education is about more than simply meeting certification requirements. It is a valuable way to invest in yourself and your career. Completing CECs can help you:

  • keep up with new techniques, products, equipment, and regulations

  • strengthen your practical skills and industry knowledge

  • build confidence in your work

  • remain compliant with IICRC requirements

  • connect with others in the industry and expand future opportunities

In short, CECs help you stay current, capable, and professionally competitive.
